Today, it’s all about books and I’ll try to give you the:
5 Amazing Young Adult Book Series
I’ve been trying to write this post for the past week. Furthermore, I WANT to give the best series but it’s seriously hard to pick and it’s even harder when I seriously just found another one but out of 4 books, I’m only reading the first one. Sigh, 5 Amazing Young Adult Book Series has been by far the hardest post to write yet.
But these are the top of the list. And yes, I am obsessed with everything Cassandra Clare has written so far and happily expecting the last book for The Dark Artifices – The Queen Of Air and Darkness. I compiled the list based on the past 5 years and TRUST ME, this was NOT simple.
To be fair, one of my not-really-healthy obsessions are books. Mainly YA and M/M romance – I have SO many things to provide on these but 5 will be enough for now. If you definitely want to know the best LGBT M/M Romance then I’ll be happy to compile the best books I’ve read this year (:
So, without further ado, we’ll start with the series (yes, I’m doing Cassandra’s in order of release).
The Mortal Instruments
The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare. 6 books on this series, originally meant to be 3. TMI for short.
- City of Bones
- City of Ashes
- City of Glass
- City of Fallen Angels
- City of Lost Souls
- City of Heavenly Fire
Demons, hunters, battles, badass and sassy teenagers (that were definitely my alter ego), the over obsessed evil teenager and of course, the romance. This definitely the reason I fell in love with the Young Adult genre. And I cannot recommend this enough. Honest.
The Infernal Devices
The Infernal Devices by Cassandra Clare. 3 books in this series. TID for short.
- Clockwork Angel
- Clockwork Prince
- Clockwork Princess
Battles, mystery, love, steampunk, martyr teens, and die-hard family sentimentality. What is there not love?
The Dark Artifices
The Dark Artifices by Cassandra Clare. 3 books in this series. TDA for short.
- Lady Midnight
- Lord of Shadows
- The Queen of Air and Darkness (to be released)
THIS has been the MOST hard-breaking of the Cassandra series I’ve read and I’m still expecting the release of The Queen of Air and Darkness. It is amazingly heartbreak, confusing, frustrating to a pulp and it revolves around, love, hunter and GODDAMMIT… faeries. I LOVE books with faeries so much!
The Time Quintet by Madeleine L’Engle. 5 books in this series.
- A Wrinkle in Time
- A Wind in the Door
- A Swiftly Tilting Planet
- Many Waters
- An Acceptable Time.
Unicorns, time travel, GREAT plot and OHMYGOD *fangirling*, it’s an amazing YA science-fiction with awesome characters that you can totally relate. Trust me, your inner child and even your adult self will definitely feel the affinity for at least 1 or 2 characters. This is a MUST at some point in your life.
Throne of Glass
Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas. 8 books in this series. ToG for short.
- The Assassin’s Blade (4 Novellas that need to be read prior to Throne of Glass)
- Throne of Glass
- Crown of Midnight
- Heir of Fire
- Queen of Shadows
- Empire of Storms
- Tower of Dawn
- Kingdom of Ash (to be released)
Celaena Sardothien, an 18-year-old assassin. That pretty much was a done deal for me. I know, it’s not much to convince people… BUT it gets better when faeries are thrown in the mix with one hell of a series of past mistakes and tons of awesome battles! There is character development, cunning, and sassiness as well. Oddly, also hot non-explicit sex which is weird in a YA book. Secondary characters are amazing as well and definitely, you fall in love with their personalities despite it all.
Romance, battles, faeries, powers and great plot. I recommend it, definitely
Anyway, I’ve ranted enough and now, I pass the baton.
Let me know which are your favorite books, have you read any of the ones mentioned and what you thought.
